B & D Contracting started in 1989 when Dave Kaup became partners with his employer Bob Post. The partnership at that time was called B & D Contracting LLC, when Bob retired in 2007, Dave wanted to keep the name of the company and its great reputation and renamed the company B & D Contracting Inc. Dave is now the sole owner and president of the corporation.

Dave started his construction career in the summer of 1982 between his freshman and sophomore years of high school. He worked for Bob, formally known as Post Construction, every summer and sometimes during the school year when school was on break.

Dave was intending to go to college to become a house designer and draftsman, but he enjoyed the building aspect too much that he decided to forgo college and continue his career in building homes instead of drawing them. He now has over 35 years of building experience. His wife, Lucy, from St. Henry, and three children, Rachel, Harrison, and Joelle reside in Fort Recovery. 

We specialize in custom-built homes. We also do remodeling, commercial, agricultural buildings, and Sunward steel frame buildings.

B & D Contracting Inc. is not about doing as many projects as possible, but doing the projects with as much quality as possible. The goal is to offer our clients the most up-to-date building products with the most up-to-date installation methods.
